Real Life Bride - Greta

One of my lovely brides Greta writes :
'We had a wonderful day and I really felt like a princess, particularly with those gorgeous flowers in my hair.'

'It was also very comfortable, which was a blessing!'

Thanks again,

Julie Fleming Melbourne scenes from the shop

Just had a stroll around the sunny shop today even though we are in Autumn we have had a lovely sunny day, crisp and cold outside but in the front room of the shop it is warm behind the glass. Also showing photo's of our 'beauty room' which is a calm oasis and soothing to the eye after the riot of colour in the shop.

Hand Covered headband

The base for many a fine headband, I use silk with beaded tulle overlay to achieve this 'lush' look, above is the finished design.
You only get to see a small amount of detail however the whole shape and look would be very different on a flat band.
This is the latest in customers own fabric, below.

Often the beading has to be re attached as below.
I tie off the ends of the beading to make sure that they do not shift
or drop off while being worn, as below.
An earlier post you will remember this is how I hand cover
the flatter metal bands in petersham.

Blush Pink

Have had this blush pink silk organza for a million years and have finally cut it ! What do you think, I just adore the colour and have added the milky stones for effect.........also had the smallest piece of spot tulle in the same colourway. This is maybe (maybe...) why I never throw anything out as even the smallest piece can be of use.

How to make Pearl Bows

Have just had to make a few dozen of these delightful little bows and I thought I would let you see the making process. Bit tough on the fingers so am glad to have finished.
Think I will be counting little rice shaped pearl beads in my sleep now ! At top is clients little girl Amelia wearing her stretchy headband that I made for her featuring a big pearl bow.

ME at the RACES......

Here are some lovely photo's sent in by my wonderful clients wearing their Julie Fleming to the races.

Apologies if you do not appear as I in the end had to be very selective due to the number of photo's sent in.
