Blue Bridesmaids

For the colourful wedding day a couple of blue hairclips for blue bridesmaids. These were made by me for Christine and I have incorporated the fabric from the girls blue silk dresses.

Real Life Bride....Caroline on her Wedding Day

Caroline writes : 'Just wanted to drop you a line to thank you again for the gorgeous headpiece you made for my bridal outfit. The wedding went beautifully and we had such a fun day. The headpiece really set off the outfit and the veil was a definite conversation piece (and my great aunt did tear up when she saw it being worn again! We figured out it was my great great grandmother's...I think that's the right number of greats who was married in 1840. Incredible that it has survived so well). I have attached some photos, for your interest, so you can see how it looked on the day - you can also see the little shoe that you re-ribboned for me!'

Summer Sun Hats 2009

Well, I had one in my hand still sewing it's label in when I walked into the shop yesterday and it sold on the spot. A divine watermelon, very fine straw so I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I like my creations to stay around a bit longer than that. Part of the joy of creating a beautiful hat is to look at for a while before it walks out the door (!) A few photo's I took over the last couple of days hiding in my air conditioned studio out of the hot hot heat in Melbourne.

Welcome to the fitting room......

Thought you would like to see our fitting room which is decked out with some of my favorite hat contributions to magazines, these are all my hats that have appeared over the years in (mainly) Vogue Australia as well as other magazines. These are 'show cards' and are directly from the magazine tear sheets and I thought what was the point of having them in a pile - they look so much better up on the wall and the fitting room seemed appropriate !
