Winter Headbands using Vintage Veiling

Some new designs from a series that I have been working on using vintage veiling. I am trying to use up some of my massive collection of vintage veiling, available now in my store.

Come and join our friendly team in Julie's large light filled studio in Hawksburn. Learn how to make hats with like minded people !

We guarantee you will enjoy the hand making process and you will be able to expand your knowledge of hand making hats and special trims. Discover the 'how to' if you are a beginner. You will expect to make at least one hat (summer or winter) or perhaps you are a student looking to create a special piece for your folio?

Some of the smaller items and tools that you need will be supplied or available at a small charge. Materials could add $100 to the class cost depending on the requirements for your design. Use any material you like to make a hat Julie will know the best way to put it together.

Borsalino

Two very fine quality vintage Borsalino velour felts came my way and I just wanted to share their beauty. The ruby red one has already sold to a lovely petite client with grey/white hair and the colour looks sensational on her. I still have the very dark green one here to make and am just contemplating the design..................

Some Vintage Inspiration

This is classic vintage and I love the look. I often have a client ask for this style of hat and........ for all out there the correct name for this hat style is a pillbox (not a Pillar Box! that's a letter box !) Hard to wear well and this one works well because the flowers add softness to the sides of the otherwise rigid style.
